Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, is hospitalised and is in a state of “extreme incapacity”, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, has disclosed.
Adamu revealed this on Monday in Abuja during a meeting with state APC chairmen and secretaries across the country.
Persecondnews had reported that on June 7, Akeredolu embarked on a month-long medical leave abroad and was expected to return on July 6.
However, the governor wrote to the Ondo State House of Assembly, extending his medical leave indefinitely.
In the letter to the House, he directed that the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, should continue to act as governor until otherwise directed.
Both Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa are having a frosty relationship.
Adamu said: “We regret to announce the extreme incapacity of the Governor of Ondo State, who we understand has been hospitalized overseas.
“We wish and pray for him for a speedy recovery.”
