For veteran actor, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, otherwise known as Agbako, If there is anything that makes him feel good about clocking the age of 100, it is the huge love he receives daily from his children and colleagues in the industry.

Speaking with Per Second News about hitting the centennial and still feeling strong, Agbako, who has been in the theatre industry for 70 years, said he couldn’t have asked for better celebration time than now.

Clad in a white popular dánshiki, the actor, who has stopped featuring in movies for sometime, danced amid cheers from family and friends at his birthday thanksgiving held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday.

Agbako said he felt stronger and agile as though he was just 20 years even when he is celebrating 100 years on the earth.

“I have lived a fulfilled life and I am grateful to God for keeping me and taking care of me. I really don’t know how to thank God because he has been very good to me.

“I couldn’t have asked for better time to be alive to see how people from all over the world are celebrating me,” he said gratifyingly.

On what he still wants from life at 100, he said he would like to spend the rest of his days serving God and living well as he has nothing more to look forward to but to be grateful to God for the gift of life.

He recalled some of the events that happened to him when he thought the end had come but said God showed up for him and saved his life.

Friends, colleagues and fans of the veteran actor also celebrated him as they gave him cash and gifts to mark the landmark birthday.
