In Zamfara guber poll, PDP’s Lawal humiliates incumbent APC Gov. Matawalle

An upset was recorded in Zamfara State as Mr Dauda Lawal, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has sent packing APC Governor Bello Matawalle in the March 18 poll.

Persecondnews reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Lawal the governor-elect with a total of 377,726 votes against Matawalle’s 311,976.

Lawal was declared winner in Gusau, the state capital in the early hours of Tuesday.

The final results were announced following the presentation of the results for Maradun Local Government Area.

The Collation Officer in charge of the council area, Dr Ahmed Kainuwa, was earlier reported abducted.
