Resignation: Ngige mutters to Buhari: Mr. President we politicians thank you for teaching us “something”

“Finally, Mr. President, before I come down (resign), I want to also thank you for the certificate of compliance which your office had been giving to politicians who want to contest for president”

President Muhammadu Buhari has taught ministers aspiring to run for President or other elective offices real-time political lessons, Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, said on Thursday.

Speaking at the productivity award in Abuja, Ngige, who has declared presidential ambition, said he would make some remarks before he stepped down from office as minister.
“Finally, Mr. President, before I come down, I want to also thank you for the certificate of compliance which your office had been giving to politicians who want to contest for president.
That certificate compliance was coming easy by a department of bureau in the villa called bureau for political presidential procurement (BPPP),” the outgoing minister said.
Persecondnews had reported that Buhari had on Wednesday directed ministers and other political appointees who are contesting for the APC tickets at the primary to resign their jobs.
Ngige, who humourously changed the federal government’s Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) to the Bureau for Political Presidential Procurement (BPPP), said:”But politicians are learning something now, this certificate of compliance doesn’t give you the Presidency.
“It is only one seat with 50 certificate of compliance.”
“We don’t know what will happen. Mr. President we politicians  thank you for teaching us something. Thank you very much,” he said peevishly.
