Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been given the nod to contest the 2023 poll for a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

By the endorsement, Sanwo-Olu has emerged the consensus candidate to fly the party’s flag in the March 2023 governorship poll.

The Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) chaired by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu gave the go-ahead on Monday at its meeting in Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, confirmed this in a tweet.

The governor was also given pass mark for staying through to the developmental agenda of Lagos, he said.

He tweeted, “Breaking news: Lagos GAC gives nod to Governor @jidesanwoolu’s second term bid.

“The Governance Advisory Council at a meeting in Lagos today gave pass mark to Sanwo-Olu for staying through to the developmental agenda of Lagos. Congratulations dear boss!”
