Tragedy as Professor of Chemistry dies during Jum’at

Death came calling on Friday when a senior lecturer at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, Prof. Abass Olajire, slumped and died while observing Jum’at in a mosque In the town.

The death of the don has thrown the university community into mourning.

The staff and students of his department — Chemistry — expressed shock at the passing on of the lecturer, who they said dressed gaily for the Jumat and bubbling.

A medical student said:”He died at Ansarudeen Mosque while praying and was quickly rushed to the Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead.”
