Fayose’s spoiler’s game in Southwest PDP, Tinubu is mastermind, group alleges

268

A group known as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Potent Force says it is spoiling for a showdown with former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over his new-fangled role as an agent of destabilization in the Southwest zone of the party.

The group in a press statement signed by its converner, Otunba Wale Fasan, accused Fayose of causing disunity in the PDP and working as a paid agent of the former Governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“We have it authoritatively that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has mobilized Ayo Fayose to destroy the PDP in the Southwest. We know that every action of Fayose aimed at creating chaos in the PDP was masterminded by his lord in Lagos.

“Tinubu understands that the APC in the Southwest is not in his pocket and he has mapped out strategies to destroy the PDP in the Southwest with the hope of harvesting from the disorder in the PDP to rebuild the APC for his advantage.

“He recruited Fayose for this purpose. And that is why if you look around all the seeming problems of the PDP in the Southwest, you will find Fayose’s hands in all of it.

“At various times, the leadership of the PDP has tried to cause some arbitration in the lingering crises rocking the party in the Southwest.

“What has been a consistent feature is that Ayo Fayose keeps appearing like a bogey boy that scares the PDP in each of its peace initiative.

“It is not surprising that Fayose would sell out on the PDP in the way that he is currently doing. He (Fayose) has demonstrated it in a couple of times in the past that whenever he is not benefitting from the PDP, he works against the interest of the party.

“His first term as governor in Ekiti State was under the platform of the PDP. When the party didn’t field him as its candidate during his first bid for a second term, Fayose  vigourously worked against the interest of the PDP,” the statement, obtained by Persecondnews, said.

The group also said:” He (Fayose) returned as a loyal member of the party when he was fielded for his second attempt for re-election.

“And since the time that he served out his tenure as governor in 2018, everything Fayose has been doing in the PDP is actually contrary to what could promote the health of the party in either Ekiti State or in the whole of the Southwest.

“At this time that the PDP is counting on its prospects of returning to power both in Ekiti state and at the national level, we have a Fayose here again doing the job of a spoiler and the only discernible reason for that is that he has not yet figured out if he can reap from the party again.”

Potent Force challenged Fayose to come out clean and outrightly declare his interest for the APC rather than yeilding himself to be recruited as an agent of  destabilization in the PDP.
