Nigerian music legend, Majek Fashek, a.k.a Rainmaker, dies at 57

Famed 57-year-old Reggae star, Majekodunmi Fasheke, a.k.a Majek Fashek is dead.
He passed on about 11.45 pm on June 1 in New York after battling with cancer for more than a year, according to his manager, Uzoma Day Omenka.
Omenka confirmed the singer’s death on his Instagram page on Tuesday morning, saying he died in New York, not in London where he was receiving treatment.

FollowIng doctors’ advice he was moved close to his family in New York where his wife and three sons live.

The “Rainmaker” was separated from his family for 10 years until last year September when they were reunited on the advice of his doctors.

“We moved him from London to New York last September on the advice of the doctors that he should stay close to the family.
“Majek reunited with his family last year after 10 years of separation. He died in their company, ” Uzoma said.
