…increases number of female senators to eight
Sen. Abiodun Olujimi (PDP-Ekiti South), whose mandate was restored by Court of Appeal, was on Thursday sworn in, taking the place of Sen. Dayo Adeyeye, the former Senate spokesperson.
The court had nullified the election of All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Adeyeye last week.
Olujimi, a returning lawmaker, was a member of the 8th Senate.
She took the oath of allegiance presided over by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan.
Lawan noted that the emergence of Olujimi had increased the number of female legislators in the 9th Senate from seven to eight.
“Her emergence will bring additional productivity in the Senate.’’
