Two Delta Air Lines regional jets collided at LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday evening while taxiing, resulting in at least one injury.

Delta stated that the low-speed collision occurred when the wing of a jet departing for Roanoke, Virginia, struck the fuselage of a jet arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The incident caused a minor injury to a flight attendant, who was taken to a hospital, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

No passengers on either flight were injured.

So far, the cause of the collision is unknown.

In spite of the incident, the Port Authority said there was no impact on airport operations.

“Delta will work with all relevant authorities to review what occurred, as the safety of our customers and people comes before all else. We apologise to our customers for the experience,” said the airline.
