Daniel’s Property in Ijebu-Ode Receives Another Demolition Threat from Ogun Govt

801

As the feud between Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and his predecessor, Sen. Gbenga Daniel, continues to escalate, the Ogun State Government has served another quit notice on a property linked to Daniel, this time in Ijebu-Ode.

The notice, issued by the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority, accuses the property owner of violating the state’s urban planning laws, Persecondnews reports authoritatively.

It orders the owner or occupant to vacate the premises within a specified timeframe, warning that failure to comply will lead to demolition.

This order follows previous “contravention” and “stop-work” directives given to the property owner.

The agency also stated that it would not be held responsible for any loss or damage to valuables left behind after the deadline.

“This is pursuant to the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law No. 61 of 2022 and the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Regulation 2022,” the quit notice stated.

The development comes barely weeks after the state government served similar quit, sealing, and demolition notices on several Daniel-owned properties in Sagamu, before later withdrawing them.

Persecondnews recalls that on Wednesday, August 13, the government extended the deadline for affected property owners to submit relevant documents for verification.

However, Daniel, now a serving senator representing Ogun East, has taken legal action against Governor Abiodun and other state officials, seeking an order restraining them from demolishing his properties.

The court has restrained the government from carrying out the demolition of the Sagamu properties – his residence and hotel in the city’s GRA.
