A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the temporary relocation of the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Justice James Omotosho issued the directive, citing the necessity of inspecting a shipping container believed to have been used to smuggle a radio transmitter into the country.

This transmitter is alleged to have been crucial for the operations of Radio Biafra, the platform Kanu used to broadcast his pro-Biafra messages.

Kanu, who remains in DSS custody, is facing terrorism-related charges connected to his advocacy for the secession of Nigeria’s southeastern region.

The trial, which was previously held at the Federal High Court premises, will now continue at the DSS facility under enhanced security measures.
