Reality TV star turned actor, Tayo Faniran, is boldly reaffirming his place in Nollywood, declaring that his contributions to the film industry can no longer be overlooked.

He recently issued a statement, daring critics and skeptics to reconsider their views on his work and abilities.

“I can’t be underrated by anyone,” he said confidently. “I have given the people and Nollywood different genres of movies to consume. I’ve done the work, I’ve played my part, and I’m only getting started.”

Faniran, who rose to fame as a finalist on Big Brother Africa: Hotshots, has transitioned into acting with an impressive filmography.

His previous works include Lucifer, The Island, Makate Must Sell, and Man of God, each showcasing a different dimension of his growing range and presence on screen.

The actor emphasized that he’s not just riding on fame, but investing in his craft.

“I’ve taken on roles that challenge me, that stretch me as an actor. I’m intentional about my growth, and the audience can see it,” he noted.

Now, Faniran is setting his sights on his latest project, The Fire and the Moth, which he describes as a turning point in his career.

The film is directed by Taiwo Egunjobi, a filmmaker known for his visually rich and emotionally deep storytelling.

Speaking about the project, Tayo said: “The Fire and the Moth is the film that will change the game for me. It’s different from anything I’ve done before — emotionally intense, well-written, and real. I poured myself into this role.”

According to him, the film tells a story that will not only entertain but also resonate deeply with viewers.

“It’s the kind of movie that stays with you after the credits roll. That’s the kind of impact I want to make now — lasting and meaningful,” he added.

With a growing portfolio and a renewed focus, Faniran said he was positioning himself as more than a former reality star.
