Pres. Bola Tinubu has canvassed the imperativeness of an enduring peace and unity in Nigeria, noting that despite differing political views, Nigerians are one.
He spoke on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex (BATTIC) located at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters in Abuja.
Tinubu likened Nigerians to occupants of one building living in different rooms, highlighting the need for unity.
Persecondnews reports that the President was received by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, upon his arrival at the NIS headquarters.
The BATTIC complex comprises several facilities, including the Command and Control Centre, NIS Data Centre, ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre, Interior Data Centre, and a 0.5KW solar power plant.
According to Nandap, BATTIC will enhance border security by assessing the risk level of incoming individuals, detecting irregular migration patterns, and monitoring unmanned borders in remote areas.
The complex is expected to set a benchmark for using technology to secure the country’s borders and ensure national security.
The event was attended by notable figures, including the President’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN).
