Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Benin City, Edo State capital, for the inauguration of Governor-elect, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, Mr. Dennis Idahosa.
Persecondnews reports that Shettima landed at the Benin City airport on Tuesday, marking the beginning of the official inauguration proceedings.
In September, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in the Edo State governorship election.
According to the results from 18 local government areas (LGAs) announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes.
His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes.
