Breaking: After five hours of screening, Senate confirms Bianca Ojukwu, six others as ministers

The Senate on Wednesday screened and confirmed the nominations of Ambassador Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, the late Odumegwu Ojukwu’s widow, and six others as ministers.

Others are Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata; Idi Mukhtar Maiha; Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad.

Bianca Ojukwu, whose husband formed the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is the mother of the party that has foothold only in the Southeast region of the country.

The nation’s Upper Chamber confirmed the nominees barely five hours after the screening.
