Real Madrid has announced a boycott of the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony, following reports that Vinicius Jr. will not win the prestigious award.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Monday, neither Vinicius Jr. nor any Real Madrid representative will attend the event.

The decision comes after alleged voting results leaks suggested Vinicius Jr. would not receive the award.

Real Madrid’s shock and disappointment led to the boycott, with even manager Carlo Ancelotti skipping the ceremony.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled for October 28 at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, will proceed without Real Madrid’s presence.

The event honours the top players, goalkeepers, and clubs by presenting nine awards.
