Nigeria’s national women’s football team, the Super Falcons, has stepped up preparations for two international friendly matches against Algeria.
Head Coach Justine Madugu has invited 25 players, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The matches will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on October 26 and 29.
This marks the first time the Super Falcons will play international friendlies on home soil since the 2021 Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament.
Madugu’s squad includes Turkey-based defender Oluwatosin Demehin, Comfort Folorunsho of Edo Queens, and Spain-based Gift Monday.
Several home-based professionals and Falconets from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia have also been called up.
These friendlies will be the Super Falcons’ first gathering since the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France and the departure of former coach Randy Waldrum. The Algerian team arrives in Nigeria on October 23.
