Toyin Abraham to Nigerians: Stop bullying me, my son, I didn’t collect a dime from Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, for 2023 polls

Nollywood filmmaker and box office star Toyin Abraham has vowed to take legal action against Nigerians who continue to troll her children and husband online.

The actress made this decision after facing a severe backlash on Twitter following ongoing hardship in the country, which many attributed to the political endorsement she made last year.

The backlash intensified late last night as Nigerians expressed their frustration over the current economic and social challenges, blaming Abraham for endorsing President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Her support for Tinubu, which she justified by sharing her belief in his vision for the country, has since made her a target of public ire, particularly as the promised improvements have yet to materialize.

Abraham said she has never collected a dime from neither President Tinubu nor Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, insisting that her support for the duo and their political party was borne out of genuine love for them.

During an emotional Instagram Live session, Abraham broke down in tears, vowing to confront those attacking her four-year-old son, Ireoluwa Ajeyemi.

“Stop cursing my son. I won’t keep quiet anymore,” she declared, expressing her distress over the personal attacks on her family.

She emphasized that she has never condoned bullying and has always advised her fans against such behavior.

Abraham highlighted her efforts to help others through the proceeds from her cinema projects, underscoring her commitment to using her platform for good.

However, the constant trolling has pushed her to the brink, leading her to promise legal repercussions for those responsible for her anguish.

In a bid to mitigate the situation, Abraham issued a stern warning to her fans, who were retaliating against the trolls on her behalf.

She took to her Instagram story to plead with them to stop using her name to create fan pages that perpetuate bullying or cursing.

“I am strengthened by the Lord, and I am not moved by any curse, abuse, or bully from trolls,” she stated, reaffirming her resilience in the face of online harassment.

The controversy further escalated when a troll made a derogatory comment about fellow actress Funke Akindele in Abraham’s comment section, suggesting that Akindele would imitate her post within 12 hours.

Abraham swiftly condemned this comment from a user known as @sleek_young, reprimanding the troll for stoking unnecessary rivalry.

As the situation continues to unfold, Toyin Abraham’s outburst has sparked a wave of reactions, with many debating the ethics of political endorsements by celebrities and the extent of online harassment they face.
