The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says it has arrested a Christian cleric and two others for the alleged abduction and trafficking of 12 children.

The spokesperson of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday and made available to Persecondnews.

According to the SP Adeh, operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad 74 (RRS 74) intercepted one Muhammad Isah’m’ of Kafanchan, Kaduna, in a Toyota Hiace bus with registration no. APP 489 XE on Friday, conveying 12 underage children—four male and eight female—to a destination later discovered to be in Ogun State.

She said a preliminary investigation revealed that the children, whose ages are between 5 and 16 years old, all from Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, were being trafficked to Ogun State by Pastor Simon Kado’m’ and Jesse Simon Kado’m’, all presently in police custody.

“While the investigation is still ongoing and efforts are conduit with Nasarawa State Police Command on how to reunite victims with their respective families, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has reiterated that the safety of residents remains his utmost priority.
