The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has pledged their support to President Bola Tinubu, believing that he has the capability of turning around the fortunes of Nigeria.

The CAN President, Most Rev. Daniel Okoh, disclosed this while briefing newsmen after visiting Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, on Monday.

He urged the president to run an all-inclusive government that listens to the people and pleaded with him to continue on the path of togetherness.

“He is determined to run a government that is for all—a government that listens to the people,” PersecondNews quotes Okoh as saying.

Okoh also said: “The general elections of 2023 have come and gone, and by the grace of God, we have a sitting president in the person of President Bola Tinubu, and so the leadership of CAN decided to come to pay a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his election and to pledge our support for his administration.”

The president is sensitive to all the challenges we have; we have observed him making positive steps from the beginning of his administration, through appointments and other things.

“He has come with a good sense of inclusiveness, and Nigerians are having a sense of belonging; his pronouncement and his body language have increased the confidence of Nigerians in Nigeria.

“We believe that given the chance, he will do a lot more, and we are praying that the Lord will strengthen him to do more and turn around the fortunes of this country.

“We know that there are a lot of challenges. What we tell our people is that this is just the beginning of this administration; what we face now started not just today; it started many years ago, and it will take a while to turn around the nation.

“The most important thing is that there is an intentional step by the president to reverse the trend of events, especially in the area of governance. We see the effort he is making towards securing this nation.

“We ask Nigerians who have lost hope not to lose hope but to have patience and persevere. Though it is night, a new dawn is on the horizon.”
