Supreme Court vacancies: Tsammani, Oyewole, Georgewill, Abiru, Bayero, Nwosu-Iheme, 16 others elevated as justices

Persecondnews recalls that two weeks justices -- Amina Augie and Mohammed Datijjo -- retired recently further depleting the number of the officers of the temple of justice with some states and zones not having representation.

With just 10 serving justices in the nation’s Supreme Court, no fewer than 22 justices from the Court of Appeal have been elevated to the apex court.

Persecondnews recalls that two weeks justices — Amina Augie and Mohammed Datijjo — retired recently further depleting the number of the officers of the temple of justice with some states and zones not having representation.

The Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) nominated the 22 Justices from the various zones and forwarded the list to the National Judicial Council (NJC).

Persecondnews reports that Southeast and Northcentral have the highest nominations of six each.
