The much-publicized meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the U.S. President Joe Biden scheduled to hold while in the U.S. did not hold afterall.

Tinubu departed New York City on Thursday evening after attending a successful United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78) at the UN headquarters in New York.

Watch: President Tinubu departs New York City for Europe

PerSecond News gathered that the president left the U.S. Eastern city for an undisclosed European country.

Both leaders were billed to meet at the behest of President Biden while in U.S. but, however, failed to hold without an explanation.

Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement last month said Tinubu had accepted an invitation to meet with the U.S President on the sidelines of the UNGA.

Ajuri announced that the letter was delivered by U.S. Presidential Envoy and Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Molly Phee.

No reasons was given for the cancellation of the meeting.

Per Second News is still awaiting response from the White House regarding enquiries sent regarding the failed “historic meeting”.
