Brainsick-man decapitates octogenarian, “neutralized” resisting arrest

Iperu community, the country home of Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun, was overcome with grief on Friday as 32-year-old man, David Shodola, severed an 84-year-old man, Alfred Opadipe’s head.

The news of the ghastly incident sent shock waves through the Remo North council area of the state.

In a swift operation following a tipoff, operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer swooped on the area to arrest the murder suspect.

On sighting the police, Shodola put up a violent resistance, wielding a machete.

In the process, the “mentally challenged” man was neutralized as he was said to have violently resisted arrest and attacked police officers with the machete.

Confirming the incident, the new State Police Command’s spokeswoman, SP Omotola Odutola, said following a call received from an unnamed informant, police officers led by the Isara Divisional Police Officer, CSP Bankole Eluyeru, stormed the scene.

“An attempt to arrest the suspect was allegedly fiercely resisted as he used the matchete on the Divisional Police Officer and his men.

“The team, however, succeeded in neutralizing the suspect,” Persecondnews quotes her as saying.

On the mental state of the suspect, Odutola said from the intelligence gathered by the police, the suspect being mentally challenged was disproved.
