In a strategic move, a former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, and rx-National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The duo went into a closed-door meeting with the President amid speculation that Anyim and Metuh may soon defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Among attendees at the meeting with Tinubu were the Chief of Staff, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake.

Persecondnews recalls that Metuh, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Finance Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud, had in October 2022, resigned his membership of PDP.

In a letter addressed to the former National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, Metuh had indicated that he was quitting partisan politics.

Anyim, who was in March 2023, suspended by the PDP, had supported Ebonyi APC Governorship candidate, Francis Nwifuru, who won the March 18 election.
