Just in: Missing three medical students in Calabar boat mishap brought out dead

Three of the 13 medical students, who were declared missing following a boat cruise in Calabar, Cross River State on Saturday are now confirmed dead.

Police Commissioner Gyogon Augustine Grimah confirmed on Monday that their bodies have been recovered.

They were declared missing while 10 others were rescued following the capsizing of the boat they were cruising in.

The medical students from different universities in Nigeria were in Calabar for the medical students games.

“Ten were rescued alive as soon as the boat capsized while the three went missing,” Grimah said.

He gave the identities of the deceased students as Mustapha Aminu Tukur and Kabiru Hamza while the third victim has not been identified.

Tukur and Hamza are from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria while the third student is from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
