Following the leaking of a video on the social media showing a dehumanized and battered policewoman in Osun State by her immediate boss, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Usman Baba, has directed the State Police Commissioner,  Olaleye Faleye, to launch an investigation into the incident.

Persecondnews reports that the social media was awash with the video on Wednesday of a Police Inspector, Bamidele Olorunsogo, beaten and battered by her Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) in Ode-Omu, Ajayi Matthew, in a desperate attempt to seduce her.

In the video, Bamidele accused Matthew, a senior colleague at the Ode-Omu Police Divisional Headquarters in Osun State, of assaulting and blackmailing her to submission to have a carnal knowledge of her.

The policewoman alleged that Matthew had approached her to be his woman friend which she allegedly repudiated on the grounds that she is married.

“But Matthew continued to blackmail me and ended up assaulting me.

“What is my offence? He started beating me to the extent, he stripped me. Look at my chest, arms, everywhere, there are injuries. He is Ajayi Matthew.

“He asked me out, that I should befriend him. I said no, that I’m a married woman.

“He started blackmailing me, claiming that he is my lover which is not true,” Persecondnews quotes her as saying.

Responding to the policewoman’s assault by her supervisor, the IGP has ordered an investigation into the professional misconduct.

The Force spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed this, said the Force Headquarters will await a report of the investigation from the Osun State Command, and take necessary actions on the matter.

He said: “We will await the report of the investigation from the Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken.
