Striking members of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have indicated that they are in the process of appealing the ruling of the National Industrial Court directing them to return to work.

This is in reaction to the earlier ruling on Friday by Justice Bashar Alkali, who ordered the resident doctors to suspend their ongoing industrial action and return to work immediately pending the determination of the substantive suit.

Persecondnews recalls that NARD began a nationwide industrial action since August 2, over unpaid salaries, benefits to families of members that lost their lives to COVID-19 pandemic and hazard allowances, improved conditions, and failure to domesticate Medical Residency Training (MRT) Act 2017 in states, among others.
