NNPC GMD’s transformation agenda excites DPR boss

The Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr Sarki Auwalu has hailed the transformative initiatives of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari since he assumed the corporation’s helmsmanship.

Receiving Kyari and top management team of the corporation in his office, Auwalu said: “You only need to say what is right and obvious, so whatever I am going to say in my remark is right and it is obvious.

 

 

” I will like to first congratulate Nigeria for having somebody leading the biggest corporation in Nigeria.

“The GMD within the time he took over NNPC, he created a lot of landmarks and a lot of things which history will not only put them on stone but will never forget it.

“I can also say, with ultimate commitment, today, the whole world, after 44 years of our great NNPC it is in the first year that not only is it trying to recover but profit is declared.

“This, we are so proud of it and we put our head very high in the committee of the nation that our biggest corporation in Nigeria is no longer the way it is been seen because the man that come to say is not business as usual but business unusual.”

Auwalu noted with satisfaction the creation of energy security for the nation by Kyari by ensuring the availability of gas across the country.

This, he said, would help to alleviate poverty in the country.

“And the GMD is here, remember that I said what I am going to say is real and it is true; to create security of energy for this nation , the man sitting down here do things that is about to eliminate poverty in this nation.

“His ability to have energy security, creating that he ensured that our Train 7 was signed and FID was taken.

“Aso the GMD sitting here with us is the only GMD that ensured that across Nigeria gas is everywhere by ensuring that …, which remain the connection (river connection) and ensuring that gas reaches every corner through the East-west across the Trans Niger pipeline and above all the Ajaokuta-Kaduna- Kano,” the DPR boss noted.
