Two of the remaining four aides of Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a lgboho Oosa, still being held by the Department of State Services (DSS) this evening breathed air of freedom.

Tajudeen Irinloye and Uthman Adelabu were let off the hook after over 60 days in DSS detention.

The counsel to the detainees, Mr Pelumi Olajengbesi, who had vowed to continue to fight for the release of the four, however, confirmed the development to newsmen.

Persecondnews recalls that on August 30, 2021, the DSS had released eight of the 12 aides of Igboho following a court order and perfection of their bail applications several weeks after.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court, Abuja, had on August 4, 2021, granted bails to the 12.

They fulfilled their bail conditions including the provision of 24 sureties but the DSS lawyer, Idowu Awo, kicked against the bails granted by Egwuatu to four of them, claiming that they were heavily involved in the alleged offence of arms stockpiling and other criminal activities of Igboho.

Awo had filed a remand application for the four detainees saying their release would affect investigation. He had also approached an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja to revoke the bail earlier granted to the four persons.

On July 1, 2021, the DSS-led security forces had carried out a bloody raid on Igboho’s Soka residence in Ibadan, killing two people in cold blood in a bid to arrest Igboho.

The 12 aides were whisked away to Abuja by the secret police.
