Still in the euphoric mood of Nigeria’s victory and qualification to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in
Cameroon, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) has hailed Super Eagles and nudged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) into early preparation for the tourney.
The soccer supporters have also advised the Super Eagles to fortify areas, especially the wings and the midfield, admitting, however, that they were at their best in the match against Lesotho on Tuesday.
Patting the internationals on the back, the National Chairman of NFSC, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, said: “I want to say a big congratulation to the NFF, NFSC and the members of the football supporters club.
“Apart from qualifying for AFCON, we ended the qualifiers with a sweet victory.
“I use this opportunity to advice the Coach, Gernort Rohr and the NFF on early preparation and that this crop of players should maintain the tempo.”
“Qualifying is one stage, going to AFCON proper is another so that when we get to AFCON we are sure of winning the Cup,” Persecondnews quotes lkpea as saying via a statement by Peter Ejiofor, the National Media Officer.
Also applauding the country’s representatives at the AFCON campaigns, the club’s Publicity Secretary, Dominic Ehimare, said the Super Eagles were at their best in the match against Lesotho.
“They need to work on their wings. Their defence is good, the midfield is fair but their attack is almost perfect.
“The synergy in their passes is fantastic. The slow pace and abrupt attack is novel and it pays them good.
“In all, this is a good outing that if galvanised will help us lift the Cup come 2022 in Cameroon,’’ Ehimare, a lawyer, said.
