Self-styled liberator, Sunday Igboho, vows to quit herders from Oyo

In defiance to Oyo Gov. Seyi Makinde’s directive, a self-styled Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho, on Friday made good his threat to serve quit notice to killer-herders in Igangan in Ibarapa North, Oyo State, reports Persecondnews.

In a commando style, Igboho stormed the area and addressed the people, vowing to stop kidnapping and killings being perpetrated by the herders.

Last Friday, Igboho and his supporters stormed the area and gave the Fulani one week to leave.

The grassroots mobilizer issued the deadline when he confronted the Seriki Fulani, Saliu Kadri.

He fingered the herders for the assassination of an Oyo businessman, Fatai Aborode, Alhaja Serifat Adisa and her children, an Igangan prince, among others.

Igboho said he decided to embark on the rescue mission following a Save-Our-Souls by the traditional rulers.

According to him, the monarchs are helpless about the incessant killings and kidnappings in the area.

However, both the Presidency and Oyo State Government had condemned the quit notice.

Impeccable sources told Persecondnews that the Presidency was even touting the idea of arresting Igboho.

Governor Makinde had also warned against the eviction of any ethic group and vowed to deal with “troublemakers.”

But lgboho on Friday called their bluff as he ordered the Fulani herders out.

Meanwhile, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, the Alaafin of Oyo, the custodian of Yoruba culture and a prominent traditional leader, had written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, notifying him about the nefarious activities being perpetrated by the Fulani herdsmen across Southwest to which security agencies are turning a blind eye.

While assuring Buhari of his support for the present dispensation, Adeyemi urged him to find solutions to the killings and abductions in the zone.
