Insps. Sale James and Monday Uchiola of the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) and their civilian collaborator, Okechukwu Ogbonna, have been  arrested in Lagos for extortion and harassment of innocent citizens.

The vehicle used by the men for their illegal operation has also been impounded while disciplinary procedure had already commenced against them.
Mr Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police, had announced the arrest of two operatives serving in Lagos State.
Their arrest came shortly after the IGP’s directive to FSARS and other tactical squads of the force, banning them from engaging in routine patrols and acts that had earned the police public disaffection, a statement by DCP Frank Mba said.
Mba said Adamu had restated his commitment to bequeathing to Nigerians, a reformed Police Force that is accountable, responsible and ever willing to defend and uphold the rights of the citizens, while discharging its duties of keeping the people safe and secure.Adamu also urged  Nigerians not to allow the misconduct by a few personnel of the Force to negatively impact on their belief in the police.
