President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with the service chiefs and handed down a verdict of uninspiring performance about the officers.
He told the service chiefs at the Villa that “though they are trying their best to tackle insecurity in the country, their best is not good enough.”
He said henceforth excuses will no longer be tolerated from them, adding ” l expect everyone to live up to expectations”.
The military chiefs had briefed Buhari on the increasing security challenges across the country and how they are being tackled.
PerSecondnewsrecalls that from June 9 to 13, the terrorists and bandits in some Borno communities had killed scores of people including launching an attack on UN Humanitarian Centre.
UN had on Tuesday issued a statement condemning the new wave of bloody attacks in Borno State.
Well-meaning Nigerians and politicians had called on the Buhari to sack them for alleged non-performance.
In an interview with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, the National Security Adviser, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Mungonu said the President also directed him to meet with Northern governors particularly Niger State governor to find out what the problems are and proffer solutions to them.
