COVID-19: Traditional medicine to the rescue, says Monarch Ogunwusi

Avid for COVID-19 cure, the Ooni of Ife in Osun, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, says the local cure he had commissioned for coronavirus has reached an advanced stage.

He had beeen struggling to provide a traditional cure for COVID-19 in collaboration with traditional medicine practitioners in Nigeria.

The monarch spoke in Abeokuta while presenting two modular motorised fumigators and a drone for aerial fumigation to the Ogun State Government.

“We are going to proffer the local cure for coronavirus very soon; we are at an advanced stage with the traditional medicine practitioners in Nigeria.

“I am very happy that the same thing that we are talking about in Nigeria, another sister country, Madagascar, has taken it upon themselves and even the US government, they have even reached out to them for funding,” Ogunwusi said.

Persecondnews recalls that the monarch had last week donated similar equipment to the Lagos State Government.

Several experts, scholars including  Prof. Anthony Elujobi, ex-Vice-Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife, and wel-meaning Nigerians have called on the Federal Government to commmision experts to work on herbal cure for COVID-19.

According to the Ooni, the two fumigators are to complement the efforts of government at combating the spread of the disease.

Receiving the items, Governor Dapo Abiodun, thanked the traditional ruler, saying the donations will go a long way in assisting the government in its effort at stemming the spread of the virus.

He urged organisations and well-meaning people to take a cue from the Ooni’s gesture.
