President Bola Tinubu has established the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee (NTPIC) to drive his administration’s tax reforms.
The committee, chaired by Mr. Joseph Tegbe, will work with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the new tax laws, which aim to build a fair, transparent, and modern tax system that supports economic growth and protects citizens and businesses.
The NTPIC will focus on nationwide consultations, public awareness, and better coordination among government agencies to boost revenue, reduce leakages, and strengthen Nigeria’s economy.
The committee comprises experts from tax administration, finance, law, the private sector, and civil society, ensuring a balanced and inclusive approach to policy execution.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, will oversee the committee’s work, emphasizing that the new tax laws are crucial to Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda.
