The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to commemorate Eid-el-Fitr and the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued Tuesday by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
In his message, the Minister congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of their fast and urged them to uphold the virtues of love, peace, and sacrifice practiced during Ramadan.
He further urged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for national prosperity and unity, while reminding citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged.
