Following a late-night break-in and the looting of sensitive documents at its national headquarters in Utako, Abuja, the Labour Party has intensified its demand for the immediate arrest of former National Chairman, Julius Abure.
Party leaders have formally accused Abure of orchestrating the raid, which occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, just weeks after a Federal High Court upheld his removal from office.
The incident has deepened internal fractures, with the current leadership describing the attack as a “calculated assault” on the party’s institutional memory.
Witnesses, including security personnel at the premises, alleged that intruders forced their way into offices under the cover of darkness, leaving the facility in disarray and compromising essential administrative functions.

Speaking with newsmen at the party’s secretariat on Monday, Deputy National Chairman Prof.Theophilus Ndubuaku emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “The Labour Party demands the immediate arrest of Julius Abure. We have informed the Inspector-General of Police, and they have been acting professionally.”

Persecondnews correspondent who covered the media briefing, reports that Ndubuaku provided a harrowing account of the intrusion, stating that loyalists to Julius Abure stormed the secretariat, destroyed party property, and held the on-duty security guard at gunpoint.

He noted that the operation lasted roughly 30 minutes, during which intruders stole confidential financial reports and digital equipment valued in the millions.
Describing the raid as a “brazen act of nocturnal sabotage,” Ndubuaku emphasized that such violence would not deter the party’s transition.
He confirmed that the Labour Party remains focused on its upcoming National Convention, scheduled for April 25.
He lamented the “sad assault” on the party’s sanctity, calling for immediate legal accountability to restore order.
