The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned its Egor Constituency representative, Natasha Irobosa, to answer for behaviour deemed embarrassing to the House.

The decision was made on Tuesday after viral videos featuring Irobosa, who is married to music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, continued to spread online.

Speaker Blessing Agbebaku mandated that Irobosa face the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges within one week over the alleged misconduct.

Agbebaku insisted that the Assembly could not ignore the issue’s impact on its public image, urging all lawmakers to uphold their dignity.

He said: “Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been summoned to appear before the Ethics and Privilege Committee of the Assembly due to her recent conduct which has been trending online.

“This conduct drags the name of the House into the mud and it is the responsibility of the members of the Assembly to conduct themselves well.”

The Speaker noted that the Assembly is made up of “cerebral minds” who should not be drawn into unnecessary scandals.

“This House has members who know what they are doing and the attitude of our member has brought this House to disrepute and we will not tolerate it.”

The committee is expected to investigate the matter and submit its report in two weeks.

Mrs Irobosa has been trending recently after a video showed her in a heated exchange with her husband, 2Baba.

The video clip featuring Natasha Irobosa sparked extensive reaction across social media, with many Nigerians publicly questioning the relationship status of the couple.

Before her entry into politics, Mrs. Irobosa was primarily known through her connections within the entertainment industry.

Her election as a first-term lawmaker was viewed as bringing a fresh perspective to Egor Constituency, particularly on issues concerning women and community development.

The Assembly’s formal review of her conduct is expected to garner significant public attention when she appears before the committee.

Persecondnews recalls that the couple was in the news in November after welcoming their first child, a baby boy.

Earlier that day, speculation had mounted when Ms. Irobosa was sighted at a hospital, suggesting she had gone into labor.

She confirmed the birth hours later with a brief post on her official Facebook page, noting that they had been “blessed with a baby boy.”
