President Bola Tinubu inaugurated two new ministers, Bernard Doro and Kingsley Udeh, on Thursday at the State House, Abuja.

The swearing-in took place shortly before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Dr. Bernard Doro (Plateau State) has been appointed the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, filling the vacancy left by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who resigned after becoming the APC national chairman.

Doro’s nomination had secured Senate confirmation in late October.

Dr.Kingsley Udeh, whose Senate confirmation occurred just hours earlier, takes the portfolio of Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, succeeding the departing Uche Nnaji.

Udeh previously held the position of Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State.

During the FEC meeting, the council observed a minute of silence in honour of two prominent Nigerians who passed away:

Solomon Ewuga, former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory under President Olusegun Obasanjo, who also served as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator for Nasarawa North, and Ambassador to Angola;bAbdullahi Mohammed Adangba, former Chief of Staff to Presidents Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died at 86.
