Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, an Abuja veterinary doctor and former chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, FCT Chapter, was killed by suspected kidnappers who simultaneously abducted his three children.

Persecondnews gathered that gunmen invaded his Kubwa district home, along the Kubwa-Kaduna road, on Friday night.

While the doctor and his children were initially taken, the assailants later left his body by the roadside.

Andrew Gabriel Ikechukwu confirmed Dr. Ogbu’s death on his Facebook page, noting the roadside discovery of his corpse.

He wrote: “Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, the immediate past chairman of the NVMA FCT chapter, who was kidnapped alongside his three children from his home in Kubwa Abuja, was found dead.

“The three children are yet to be released. May God please intervene.”

The veterinary profession is mourning the loss of Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, whom colleagues described as a dedicated professional.

He leaves behind his nursing wife and heartbroken family.

The focus of the family’s distress now rests on the ongoing efforts to locate and rescue his three abducted children.

Friends and colleagues expressed shock, calling the killing a devastating loss.

This tragic event follows closely on the heels of another violent death in Abuja—that of Arise TV journalist Somtochukwu Maduagwu, who was killed during a robbery in Katampe last week.

Although investigations are reportedly underway, police authorities have not yet issued an official statement, and the FCT Police Command did not respond when contacted for comment.
