Liverpool’s perfect start to the season continued as they edged out Arsenal 1-0 at Anfield, thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai’s match-winning free-kick in the 83rd minute.

The Hungarian midfielder’s brilliant shot from 35 yards out thundered into the top corner, sending the home crowd into delirium.

Szoboszlai’s match-winning free-kick capped a brilliant all-round performance from the Hungarian midfielder.

He was instrumental in Liverpool’s attack, linking well with teammates and creating scoring opportunities.

The win sees Liverpool top of the Premier League table with nine points from three games, extending their unbeaten start to the season.

Persecondnews reports that the first half was a dull affair, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya gave away possession twice, but Liverpool failed to capitalize on the mistakes.

The Reds’ best chance of the half was ruled out for offside, as Hugo Ekitike’s bundled shot was disallowed due to Cody Gakpo’s position.

Arsenal’s woes were compounded by an injury to defender William Saliba, who went down following a clash with Hugo Ekitike.

Saliba was immediately withdrawn and replaced by summer signing Cristhian Mosquera.

Manager Mikel Arteta will be keeping his fingers crossed that Saliba’s injury isn’t serious, as the Frenchman has been a huge presence for Arsenal in recent seasons.

New signing Eberechi Eze made his debut for Arsenal in the second half, bringing a spark to the team’s attack.

Eze, who joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace in a £67.5m deal, had a few bright touches down the left flank and even appealed for a penalty in the dying minutes of the game.

The win marked a historic milestone for Liverpool, as they became the first team in their history to score in 37 consecutive top-flight league games.

Under manager Arne Slot, Liverpool have scored in 98% of their league games, the highest percentage by any manager in Premier League history.
