Nigerian music star, Skales, has revealed how a single visit to Shiloh, an annual inter-faith gathering at Ota, Ogun State, with Timaya seven years ago set the tone for the biggest twists and turns of his life and career.
The singer recalled that in 2013, Timaya took him to Shiloh at Canaanland, the headquarters of Living Faith Church aka Winners’ Chapel, where worshippers were told to write down seven things they were praying for
Skales said he asked God for just one thing — a song that would take him round the world seven times.
“Fast forward till today, He gave me a divine unending song. Anytime they think it’s over, another thing pops up about this damn song. LORD JESUS, THANK YOU,” Skales wrote in gratitude.
But the prophecy didn’t come without trials. Skales lost his beloved mother in 2022, a devastating blow that nearly broke him.
As if that wasn’t enough, his marriage collapsed not long after, leaving fans worried about his emotional state.
Still, his music refused to be buried. Old hits like Shake Body have become timeless, resurrecting his career in ways he didn’t expect.
Just recently, the song took him to Barcelona, where he performed before a roaring crowd that sang every lyric back to him.
For Skales, these highs and lows are the proof of a bigger plan.
“When they think it’s over, another thing pops up,” he said.
