Bayelsa Queens has been crowned the champion of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season after a resounding 4-1 victory over Naija Ratels in Ikenne, Ogun State, on Saturday.

The Prosperity Girls dominated the Super 6 tournament, topping the standings with 10 points.

This impressive performance earns them a spot in the prestigious WAFU B Women’s Champions League.

Vera Samuel stole the spotlight with a stunning hat-trick, while Mega Cynthia also found the back of the net to seal Bayelsa Queens’ victory.

Tumininu Adeshina scored the lone goal for Naija Ratels and the win marked a triumphant moment for Bayelsa Queens, solidifying their position as one of Nigeria’s top women’s football teams.

In another match, Nasarawa Amazons and defending champions Edo Queens played out a goalless draw.

Chris Danjuma’s Nasarawa Amazons finished second in the standings with nine points, while Edo Queens settled for third place.

Despite the loss of their title, Edo Queens’ performance demonstrated their consistency and determination in the league.

With their NWFL championship win, Bayelsa Queens will represent Nigeria in the WAFU B Women’s Champions League, competing against top teams from West Africa.

The team will look to building on their home success and make a strong impression on the continental stage.
