NSCDC Arrests Five Suspects, Recovers 20,000 Litres of Stolen Crude Oil
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against crude oil theft, arresting five suspects and recovering 20,000 litres of stolen crude oil in Abia State.

The Commandant General Special Intelligence Squad, under the leadership of Commandant Appolos Dandaura, successfully carried out the operation.

Dandaura claims that credible intelligence enabled the operation, which resulted in a midnight raid in the Umielechi/Izam community of Abia State.

Afolabi Babawale, the NSCDC’s spokesperson, signed a statement that the organization posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

The statement reads: “The Commander of the CG Special Intelligence Squad, Commandant Appolos Dandaura, hinted that his men arrested 5 suspects and impounded about 20,000 litres of crude oil, which was earlier siphoned from an already vandalized pipeline along Umielechi/izam Community in Abia State.”

The suspects, caught red-handed, were found with stolen crude oil carefully packed in cellophane bags.

Those arrested include Danniel Augustine (20), Moses Friday (23), Igboshe Musua (42), Sadiq Yunusa (28) and Dozie Ugo (33).

In addition to the recovered crude oil, the NSCDC also seized two Dalong Super Wolf motorcycles, a Qlink 150-ES Electric Start motorcycle, and a Nasara Super D-S 150 motorcycle.

The NSCDC reaffirmed the corps’ dedication to safeguarding national assets and infrastructure, following Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Audi’s zero-tolerance policy for vandalism and crude oil theft.

This development comes after the NSCDC announced the arrest of seven suspects involved in illegal petroleum dealings in Rivers State in September.
