Breaking: NFF names German tactician Bruno Labbadia as Super Eagles head coach

Labbadia will now lead the Super Eagles to execute the matches coming up for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigerian Football Federation has appointed German, Bruno Labbadia, as the 37th Head Coach of the national senior football team, the Super Eagles.

The NFF announced this in the early hours of Tuesday on its X handle.

It stated: “The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician Bruno Labbadia to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, the Super Eagles.

“NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said in the early hours of Tuesday: ‘The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

“‘The appointment is with immediate effect.’”

Labbadia will now lead the Super Eagles to execute the matches coming up for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Nigerian team will play a home game against Benin Republic on September 7 at the Nest of Champions, Uyo, before travelling to Rwanda for their next match three days later.

Persecondnews reports that the Super Eagles camp is expected to open on the September 1,2024 in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital.
