Widow of Nollywood star, Mr. Ibu, breaks silence, says our lives can’t be the same without him

Two weeks after the burial of her husband, Nollywood actor John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu, the widow, Stella Maris, has opened up about the troubled times they endured.

Taking to her Instagram page, Stella reflected on the difficult journey she and her family faced.

According to Persecondnews, Mr. Ibu was laid to rest in his Enugu State country home on July 12, exactly two weeks ago.

She described the past few weeks as profoundly challenging, recounting the ordeal they endured since the onset of her husband’s illness.

The journey began with numerous hospital visits and escalated to countless sleepless nights as Mr. Ibu’s condition deteriorated.

Stella conveyed how the love and laughter that once filled their home were overshadowed by fear and uncertainty.

Despite their relentless efforts and the dedication of the medical team, they ultimately lost him to the cold hands of death.

During this trying period, Stella expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming support they received.

She highlighted the generosity and compassion of individuals whose donations and words of encouragement provided them with the strength to carry on.

She noted that the support from Nigerians was particularly remarkable, helping the family manage medical expenses and cope with the emotional strain.
In her appreciation post, Stella Maris extended her thanks to Mr. Peter Obi, the Enugu State Government, the governor, the Commissioner of Tourism Enugu, and the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), among others, for their unwavering support.

“Today makes it two weeks since we laid my beloved husband, Mr. John Okafor (Mr. Ibu), to rest. This period has been challenging for me and my family.

“From the moment my husband’s illness began, it was a difficult journey filled with numerous hospital visits. As his condition worsened, we faced countless sleepless nights, hoping and praying for a miracle.

“The love and laughter he brought into our lives were replaced by an overwhelming sense of fear and uncertainty.

“Despite our best efforts and the dedication of his medical team, we lost him to the cold hands of death.

During these trying times, the support we received from generous and compassionate individuals provided us with the strength to continue.

“The outpouring of donations and encouragement from Nigerians was nothing short of remarkable, helping us manage medical expenses and cope with the emotional strain.”
