Customs busts 10 containers laden with illegal arms, drugs in Port Harcourt

The Nigeria Customs Service has made a significant bust at Onne Port in Rivers State, intercepting a 40-foot container containing a cache of assorted weapons and nine additional containers stuffed with codeine, a controlled substance.

At a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, the Comptroller General of Customs, Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, displayed the seized arms and drugs that were imported from Turkey.

He said his officers and men discovered weapons and drugs hidden in used clothing in an effort to conceal and smuggle them into the country.
