The Nigerian music industry is once again rocked by controversy as Kelly Hansome, a prominent music artist and producer, has come up with allegations against his colleague, Duncan Mighty, labelling him a song thief.
In a revelation on social media, Kelly Hansome revealed that Duncan Mighty had allegedly appropriated his song “OMENNEJI” and released it under the title “CRIME MATE.”
According to Hansome, he had featured Duncan Mighty on the track and entrusted him with the data to mix the song, only to find out later that Mighty had supposedly claimed the song as his own.
Expressing his disappointment, Hansome disclosed that, despite the betrayal, he proceeded to release his version of the song.
He, however, noted that Duncan Mighty had ignored his attempts at communication regarding the issue, leaving the matter unresolved.
Furthermore, Hansome pointed out a history of uncredited contributions, claiming that he had provided Duncan Mighty with his first production signature, “Wene Mighty,” and had been featured on the song “#AKONUCHE” without receiving proper acknowledgment.
He expressed his frustration with the situation, emphasising the impact of betrayal within the industry.
He also lamented the perceived motives behind Duncan Mighty’s actions, questioning whether they were driven by a desire for fame or other factors.
Despite the alleged betrayal, Kelly Hansome asserted that he would not succumb to negativity and would focus on his music career.
He hinted at the possibility of creating cover versions of Duncan Mighty’s major songs but ultimately decided against it, opting not to engage in retaliatory actions.
As of the time of this report, Duncan Mighty has not responded to the allegations levelled against him by Hansome.
