Veteran gospel music icon and leader of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Good Women Choir, Mama Fasoyin, has dismissed widespread rumours of her death, assuring admirers and the public that she is alive, healthy, and in good spirits.

The celebrated choir matriarch, famous for the timeless gospel classic Odun Lo Sopin, addressed the speculation in a video obtained by Per Second News on Monday morning, expressing shock that such a rumour could spread so quickly.

Reacting calmly but firmly, Mama Fasoyin said she was surprised to hear that some people had already begun circulating reports of her death across social media and messaging platforms.

“I am very much alive,” she said in the video. “People started calling me and asking if it was true that I had died. I was shocked when I heard it myself.”

The nonagenarian gospel leader reassured her followers that she remains strong and trusting in God’s timing for her life, insisting that she would depart the world only when it is the will of God.

“I am still here, hale and hearty,” she said. “By God’s grace, I will live to a good old age and go at the appointed time, just like Abraham in the Bible.”

Mama Fasoyin, who is now in her 90s, noted that the outpouring of concern from friends, family members, church members, and admirers across the country had been overwhelming.

“I want to thank everyone who has been calling and praying for me,” she said.

“Your love means a lot to me, and I appreciate every single person who reached out.”

She urged the public to disregard the rumour entirely, adding that she remains grateful to God for the gift of life and hopeful that she still has more time to continue serving Him through music and ministry.
